On June 3-4, a social festival Green Market was organized in April 9 Garden. The event presented the works and projects of about 70 entrepreneurs with high social responsibility, consisting of green and social enterprises.

Green Market participants were united by the main priority - care for the environment. The festival was supported by “Tegeta Holding” and “Tegeta Green Planet” - its member organization of extended producer’s responsibility. An important part of the two-day event was workshops and discussions about the planet’s green future, which were hosted in the “Tegeta Green Planet” space. “Tegeta Green Planet” Director Shalva Ahvlediani spoke about the importance of developing a circular economy and the dangers of specific waste in Georgia.

"It's very important for us to raise public awareness towards waste management. That was the main motivation for supporting Green Market. On April 9 Garden we spoke about these pressing issues and showed guests a pre-prepared video that clearly showed the importance and direction of our organization. To create a healthy ecosystem, “Tegeta Holding” collects automotive waste through “Tegeta Green Planet” and passes it on to partner companies for recycling. We have provided information to the public coming to Green Market where they can drop off used oil, batteries, or tires. The customer needs to know there is a place to drop off used products and not just throw them on the street. We believe that by sorting waste and managing it according to technical regulations, we can create a new value for the world," says Shalva Ahvlediani, director of “Tegeta Green Planet”.

All of the festival's supporters were socially responsible companies, each focused on a green future and contributing to the well-being of the planet with concrete projects.

"Future-oriented green projects are very important to “Tegeta”. As you know, environmental responsibility is a priority of “Tegeta Holding”'s CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy. Through the support of Green Market, I think we were able to inform even more people about our subsidiary organization “Tegeta Green Planet”. We discussed its activities and implemented projects," says Natika Berdzuli, Head of Strategic Communications at Tegeta Holding.

On June 3 and 4 in April 9 Garden, visitors to Green Market were greeted by a colorful and cheerful atmosphere, good music and a lot of pleasant activities. All participants in the event had their own message to the guests, and these messages responded to various pressing questions about our environment. A series of talks, workshops, a "Tegeta" zone, speakers from USAID and the UN, and children's activities were united in a common context of sustainable and green goals.
