Representatives of "Tegeta Green Planet" took part in the meeting on waste management and circular economy development

On March 20, 2024, representatives of "Tegeta Green Planet" took part in a meeting organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Georgia. At the meeting, representatives of state, international, and non-governmental organizations discussed the issues of financing the circular economy in Georgia and the existing European experience in this direction.

Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture Solomon Pavliashvili noted that Georgia is actively working on the implementation of the green economy and the implementation of European Union directives in this direction.

The participants discussed the problems they face in the development of a circular economy in the country and ways to solve them. The participants, together with Anelis Vanvimelbek, the head of the team representing the EU in Georgia on the issues of the Green Agreement, communication, economy, and investment, spoke about the opportunities and new requirements that arose before Georgia as a result of obtaining the status of a candidate for the European Union.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministries of Environment and Agriculture, Economy and Sustainable Development, and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the Parliament of Georgia, the European Union in Georgia, and business associations.
