April 18, 2023, Shalva Akhvlediani, CEO of “Tegeta Green Planet”, spoke on the Public Broadcaster about expanded producer’s responsibility. Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, was invited to the “Business Partner” program along with Shalva Akhvlediani.
Shalva Akhvlediani, CEO of “Tegeta Green Planet”, spoke about the cleaning of the Tbilisi bypass road from tires by their organization. They also discussed the nationwide problems of pollution focusing on specific waste generated by illegal dumping or placement of waste.
Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, noted that the creation of extended producer’s responsibility organizations, and thus the implementation of a new waste management system is a good example of successful cooperation between the state and the private sector.
The guests discussed the existing challenges in the field of waste management and how the cooperation between the extended producer’s responsibility organizations and the Ministry of Environment and Agriculture can contribute to solving the above-mentioned problems.
