Tegeta Green Planet and Georgian Technical University signed a memorandum of cooperation to raise environmental awareness

Tegeta Green Planet has signed a cooperation agreement with Georgian Technical University to raise environmental awareness among young people. Within the framework of the agreement, students will receive information on three subjects: atmospheric protection methods, hydrosphere and soil protection technologies, and industrial practice in the area of environmental engineering. After the theoretical part of the course, the students will have the opportunity to experience first-hand the activities of Tegeta Green Planet, which ensures efficient management of automobile waste and recycling in accordance with technical regulations. 40 students will undergo industrial practice in both the third and fourth year of the bachelor's degree, as well as in the master's programs.

Shalva Akhvlediani, Director of Tegeta Green Planet: "Within the framework of the memorandum, campaigns and lectures will be organized for the students of Georgian Technical University for several years, which will raise their awareness, and students will technically work on existing problems in the field of environmental protection. Tegeta Green Planet, as an extended producer responsibility organization, manages specific waste related to automobiles according to technical regulations. Our specific and quite technical activities create a good opportunity for those young people who are interested in technical specialties to get in-depth knowledge on these issues and in the future to connect their professional choice with the fields of environmental protection.
I think that this cooperation will be progressive and beneficial for our organization and university, as well as for the country as a whole".

Tamar Lominadze, Vice-Rector of Georgian Technical University: "The problem of waste management and climate change is acute not only in Georgia, but all over the world. Scientists are actively working on solving this problem. The main directions of Tegeta Green Planet's activities - management, regulation, recycling, and recovery of specific wastes - are issues in which the participation of students of Georgian Technical University is very important. They will be able and willing to participate in the crucial process of caring for the environment from a young age. The memorandum of cooperation will allow our students to do internships at Tegeta Green Planet, have direct contact with waste management issues, and, most importantly, familiarize themselves with the most innovative and modern ways of solving this problem in the company."

The agreement provides for cooperation until December 31, 2028.
