On April 4-5, 2023, in the frame of the project "Promotion of Waste Management and Circular Economy in Georgia", financed by the European Union and organized by the Caucasian Regional Environmental Center RECC and Danish organization COWI and supported by the Ministry of Environment Protection and Agriculture of Georgia, an information meeting was held on extended producer’s responsibility.
At the meeting, the participants discussed the problems of the extended producer’s responsibility organizations in Georgia and methods of solving these problems. The experts shared their experiences with the representatives of the extended producer’s responsibility organizations and described the opportunities that extended producer’s responsibility organizations can create for the development of circular economy, as well as processing behavior and infrastructure.
The meeting was attended by representatives of “Tegeta Green Planet”, Solomon Pavliashvili, Deputy Minister of Environment and Agriculture of Georgia, Zaza Shavadze, Minister of Agriculture of Adjara Autonomous Republic, George Suramanidze, Deputy Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara Autonomous Republic, Tamara Aladashvili, Director of Environmental Information and Education Center, Sofiko Akhobadze, Executive Director of Caucasus Regional Environmental Center RECC, and representatives of other organizations subject to extended producer’s responsibility.
