"Tegeta Green Planet” has set up a collection points for expired and broken batteries, and the collected batteries will be handed over to the relevant factories that will ensure their further recycling.
When disassembling and dismantling batteries, the components containing lead are separated from other waste. The recycling of battery waste results in products such as:
- Lead castings;
- Plastic;
- Glass;
- Slag.
In 2025, the amount of collected waste batteries sent for recycling amounted to 1,360 tonnes.
The product obtained as a result of the recycling process is metallic lead (R4 – Recycling/reclamation of metals and metal compounds).
