The settlement of Bakuriani has been cleared of automotive waste

The territory of the settlement of Bakuriani, which was polluted with environmentally harmful waste, has been cleared. With the support of Tegeta Motors and Tegeta Green Planet, up to 30,000 used car tires are being removed from the site.

The collected used car tires are sent for recycling. Their removal and recycling in accordance with the law is provided by Tegeta Green Planet. Environmental protection measures are carried out in conjunction with the legal entity under public law “Bakuriani Development Agency.”

Tatiana Khorbaladze, Head of Strategic Communications at Tegeta Motors:

For Tegeta Motors, as a company with a high level of corporate responsibility, caring for the environment is one of its priorities. By initiating and supporting environmental protection activities, the company strives to prevent and reduce environmental pollution. To create a healthy ecosystem, it is necessary to ensure that automotive waste does not enter the environment, pollute it, or harm our health. As a company that cares about the environment, Tegeta Motors, together with Tegeta Green Planet, has been involved in the effective management of automotive waste for many years, ensuring its collection and recycling in accordance with technical regulations.

This is not the first time that Tegeta Motors and Tegeta Green Planet have participated in environmental activities in Bakuriani. For many years, the company and its employees have supported and participated in large-scale clean-up campaigns. Tegeta Green Planet was established in 2022 with the specific aim of caring for the environment. The company recycles specific types of waste, such as used batteries, tires, and oil.

Shalva Akhvlediani, Director of Tegeta Green Planet

"For Tegeta Green Planet, effective waste management is one of our main areas of activity. Together with Tegeta Motors, over the years we have collected and recycled tons of used tires, batteries, and oils. We collect waste throughout Georgia, which after its initial use is completely transformed into specific hazardous waste. If this waste is not disposed of in accordance with the law, the land becomes polluted. Therefore, we constantly strive to contribute to reducing the negative impact on the environment. We are pleased that as part of this large-scale initiative, together with the Bakuriani Development Agency, we have managed to collect a large number of used tires and remove them from the Bakuriani area. Cleanup work was carried out in various locations over several days. The aim of the initiative is to create an environmentally safe and attractive environment for Bakuriani.

Ekaterina Ordzhonikidze, Chair of the legal entity under public law “Bakuriani Development Agency”:

"Our agency has been concerned about the environmental situation in Bakuriani since the very first day of its work. Over the years, we have repeatedly tried to clean up the village of Bakuriani from used tires, which not only visually polluted the area but also posed a serious environmental threat. We are pleased that, thanks to the active work of our cleaning service, we have successfully collected tires in two locations. The aforementioned cleanup campaign to rid Bakuriani of used tires was made possible thanks to the initiative of our agency and the support of reliable partners such as Tegeta Motors and Tegeta Green Planet. We believe that this cooperation is another example of how joint efforts between the private and public sectors can ensure environmental cleanliness and sustainable development in Bakuriani.
