Representatives of Tegeta Green Planet and Shine Energy visited Edison School “Novatsia”, where an educational meeting on environmental awareness and sustainable development was held. Around 60 students attended the event and had the opportunity to learn about the fundamental principles of the green economy, renewable energy, and the circular economy.
The primary goal of the meeting was to raise environmental awareness among young people and encourage a sense of shared responsibility for preserving natural resources and addressing the challenges of climate change. Students received information on how modern technologies and innovative approaches can be used to reduce environmental impact and how businesses contribute to building a sustainable future.
During the event, representatives of Tegeta Green Planet discussed the importance of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system, the management of specific waste streams, and the principles of the circular economy. Representatives of Shine Energy introduced students to the role of renewable energy in the energy transition process and highlighted the opportunities that solar power and other clean energy sources create for both the environment and society.
The meeting was particularly engaging because of the active involvement of the students themselves. Tenth-grade students prepared presentations specifically for the event and shared information with their peers about Earth Day. They spoke about when and why this important international initiative was established, how it evolved into a global environmental movement, and why it is essential for every individual to contribute to preserving natural resources and reducing environmental challenges.
The discussion also emphasized that sustainable development is not limited to environmental protection alone. It encompasses a balanced model that combines economic growth, social well-being, and the responsible use of natural resources. Every member of society has a role to play in achieving this vision. Therefore, educating and encouraging young people to participate actively is one of the most important steps toward achieving long-term positive change.
Tegeta Green Planet and Shine Energy will continue implementing educational and awareness-raising projects in various educational institutions. Initiatives like these help foster environmental culture, responsible behavior, and sustainable development values among young people, which are essential prerequisites for the well-being of future generations and the creation of a healthy environment.
