Tegeta Holding affiliated organizations,
Tegeta Green Planet and
Shine Energy, have launched a joint educational initiative aimed at raising environmental awareness among young people and fostering a sense of responsibility toward the environment.
Environmental protection and sustainable development are among the most significant challenges facing the modern world. Within the framework of this initiative, company representatives are visiting various schools in Tbilisi, where they hold informational meetings, presentations, and workshops for students.
Tegeta Green Planet introduces students to the importance of specific waste management - how to properly handle used tires, batteries, oils, and other types of waste, why their proper management is essential for environmental protection, and how this process is connected to the principles of the circular economy.
Shine Energy, on the other hand, speaks to young people about the importance of energy - where energy comes from, how it is used in everyday life, and why the development of renewable and sustainable energy resources is important.
The visits are conducted in an interactive and practical format. The program begins with presentations, followed by various activities and games that help students better understand and remember the information they receive. At the end of each workshop, participants are awarded symbolic gifts and prizes, which provide additional motivation and encouragement.
The educational initiative is not limited to schools only - in the near future, Tegeta Green Planet and Shine Energy will actively begin conducting presentations and workshops at universities as well, in order to expand awareness about environmental protection, waste management, and energy efficiency on a broader scale.
The main goal of the joint project is to foster environmentally responsible attitudes among young people, contributing to the creation of a more sustainable and environmentally conscious society in the future.
Tegeta Green Planet has been operating since 2022. It is one of the first organizations in Georgia to receive authorization from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture within the framework of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). This is especially important because the EPR system is one of the key directions of modern environmental policy, ensuring the full cycle management of specific waste - including used tires, oils, and batteries - from collection and transportation to recycling and further management in accordance with the principles of the circular economy.
