A Lesson for a Sustainable Future at Gergeti School

A Lesson for a Sustainable Future at Gergeti School

Representatives of Tegeta Green Planet and Shine Energy visited Gergeti School, where they held an educational and awareness-raising session on sustainable development for students in grades 8-10.

The main topic of the session was "A Sustainable Future: Environment, Transport, and Energy." Participants discussed how everyday human behavior affects the environment and why proper waste management, resource conservation, and the use of renewable energy are essential.

Special attention was given to the proper collection and recycling of waste tires, used oils, and batteries. Students learned that improper management of these types of waste can contaminate soil, water, and air, while recycling helps recover valuable resources and reduces environmental impact.

Alongside the presentations, students actively participated in discussions and practical activities, exploring environmental challenges and possible solutions through real-life examples. The session also introduced the concept of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system, under which producers and importers are responsible for the collection and recycling of the products they place on the market. In other words, bringing a product to the market involves not only selling it but also ensuring an effective system for its end-of-life management. Tegeta Green Planet plays an important role in this process by supporting companies in fulfilling their waste management obligations.

The interactive format of the session encouraged students to share their ideas, work collaboratively, and reinforce their knowledge through practical exercises. At the end of the event, all participants received certificates and symbolic gifts.

Tegeta Green Planet and Shine Energy place particular emphasis on raising environmental awareness among young people. For this reason, they regularly organize educational meetings at schools and other educational institutions to promote sustainable development, responsible consumption, and the efficient use of natural resources.

The meeting held at Gergeti School is another step within this initiative, encouraging young people not only to gain knowledge but also to make more responsible choices in their everyday lives.
