Environmental Education Session Held for Helios School Students

An environmental education session was held for 9th-10th grade students at Helios School. The initiative aimed to raise awareness among young people about the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility.

The session was led by representatives of Tegeta Green Planet and Shine Energy. Under the theme "A Sustainable Future: Environment, Transport and Energy," students learned about the importance of waste management, the principles of efficient resource use, the need for environmentally responsible behavior, and the role of renewable energy in sustainable development.

Through interactive presentations, discussions, and practical activities, participants also gained insight into the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system. During the session, students explored how the mechanism operates, the responsibilities of producers and importers, and how the system contributes to effective waste management and environmental protection.

The educational program was delivered in an interactive format. Students actively participated in team activities and environmental games that helped them better understand and apply the knowledge they had acquired. At the end of the session, participants received certificates and symbolic gifts.

Tegeta Green Planet has been operating since 2022 and is one of the first authorized Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) organizations in Georgia. The organization promotes the development of a circular economy by collecting and recycling waste tires, used oils, and waste batteries. Through these activities, Tegeta Green Planet ensures the implementation of the EPR regulatory framework, supports compliance with legal requirements, and contributes to reducing environmental impact.

Supporting environmental education for young people is one of the key priorities of Tegeta Green Planet and Shine Energy. To achieve this, the companies organize educational sessions in schools, introducing students to environmental protection, resource efficiency, and sustainable development through practical and interactive learning.

Educational initiatives like these help increase environmental awareness, foster responsible attitudes, and encourage young people to take an active role in building a more sustainable future.
