"Tegeta Holding”, a leading automotive industry company, participated in the contest with the project "Tegeta for the Environment". At the fourth Meliora 2022 ceremony, companies were awarded for projects and initiatives implemented in the field of sustainable development of corporate social responsibility.

Natika Gerdzuli, Head of Strategic Communications at Tegeta Holding: "It is very nice, and at the same time responsible, to receive an award for green initiatives. For “Tegeta”, as a company with high social responsibility, it is especially important to take care of the environment. Moreover, environmental responsibility is a priority of our CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) strategy. That is why we were happy to join the competition and we are glad that we received the best evaluation from the international jury as a large company. We hope to set an example for other companies in achieving sustainability goals. Many thanks to the organizers and individuals involved in the contest for their interest in “Tegeta”'s projects and the award."

The purpose of Georgia’s Responsible Business Contest is to promote corporate social responsibility in Georgia and promote it in the community. At this year's event, representatives of the diplomatic corps and international experts in the field awarded the winning companies in various categories of the contest. There are more and more participants in the Meliora contest every year. This year 60 companies took part in the contest, 80 projects in total.

“Tegeta Holding” was represented by the project "Tegeta for the Environment," which combines the "green initiatives" of the company.

The Holding efficiently manages the waste generated by its operations. To this end, “Tegeta” has created an organization called “Tegeta Green Planet” as part of “Tegeta”. The organization ensures the collection of waste oil, waste tires, and batteries, and their transfer to licensed companies for disposal and recycling.

Based on this project, the international jury decided and recognized “Tegeta Holding” as the winner in the “Green Initiative” category.

The award ceremony was attended by 250 guests, including representatives of the diplomatic corps, members of the Georgian government, local and international experts in the field, as well as representatives of civil society and business companies.
