What is our role in the process of creating a safe environment? To what extent do the decisions we make determine our well-being and future? - Animated videos created by Tegeta Green Planet to raise public awareness answer exactly these questions. The theme of the graphic videos posted on the social network is improper disposal of automobile waste, and they are designed to - communicate to citizens the real danger that threatens the environment if the waste is not recycled properly.
Creative and clear videos help viewers understand the life cycle of these products, how they are recycled and become a new product.
Shalva Akhvlediani, director of Tegeta Green Planet, said: “Environmental responsibility is a major concern for Tegeta Green Planet, and involves specific waste management, recycling, processing and recovery. We wanted to create videos that visually and verbally easily convey the message, and provide information to the public. Waste batteries, oil in the soil or water, illegal dumping of tires or burning them cause serious environmental damage and health hazards.
Reducing the damage caused by specific wastes is one of the most important tasks for the modern world, and the problem of improper management of automobile waste is a serious problem in Georgia as well. In many cases, these wastes are not managed in accordance with the waste management code, and with European standards.
Our goal is to inform the public about the harm of this waste and its proper management. Automobile waste must be recycled in accordance with legislation and technical regulations.
“Tegeta Green Planet, an extended producer responsibility organization within Tegeta Holding, is dedicated to the management of automotive waste through recycling and reprocessing. To improve the ecosystem, the organization collects battery waste throughout Georgia. This waste is then sent to partner licensed facilities where it is recycled according to technical regulations, resulting in plastic, lead, and acid. Citizens who wish to contribute to a better world, support green initiatives and take care of the environment have the opportunity to contact Tegeta Green Planet to drop off their waste.
The collection of used oil is another activity of Tegeta Green Planet. Illegal discharge of waste oils into the soil and water bodies, as well as their incineration cause damage to the environment. The waste oils collected by Tegeta Green Planet are also recycled at a partner licensed facility and result in various end products including base oil, alternative energy source, etc.
Equally damaging to the environment is the illegal dumping or burning of tires. “Tegeta Green Planet” collects waste tires throughout Georgia and recycles them to a standard at a partner licensed facility, and the resulting resources are used to produce insulation systems, bike lanes, playgrounds, rubber, paving stones and other products.
The reuse of materials from recycling batteries, oils and tires contributes to the circular economy in Georgia. Proper waste management directly impacts our health and well-being.

“Tegeta Green Planet is an organization within Tegeta Holding and has been in operation since 2022. The company was one of the first in Georgia to receive a permit from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture as part of an extended manufacturer responsibility to handle waste tires, oil and batteries. In the first stage, the organization collects, transports and recycles the above-mentioned specific waste according to regulations, and then manages it in accordance with circular economy rules.
