Tegeta Green Planet representatives visited schools in Batumi

Environmental protection and sustainable development are among the most important challenges of the modern world. In this direction, Tegeta Green Planet launched an educational initiative aimed at raising environmental awareness among young people and promoting a sense of responsibility toward the environment.

Tegeta Green Planet has been operating since 2022. It is one of the first organizations in Georgia to receive authorization from the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture within the framework of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). This is especially important because the EPR system is one of the key directions of modern environmental policy, ensuring the full cycle management of specific waste streams - including used tires, oils, and batteries - from collection and transportation to recycling and further management in accordance with the principles of the circular economy.

As part of the initiative, company representatives visited several schools in Batumi, where they held informational meetings, presentations, and interactive workshops with students. Batumi, as a Black Sea coastal city and one of the country’s major tourist centers, requires special attention in terms of environmental protection. The city’s rapid development, growing tourism, and urban expansion clearly highlight the importance of ecological responsibility and proper waste management. Therefore, the involvement and awareness of young people in Batumi is particularly significant.

Tegeta Green Planet introduces students to the importance of managing specific waste streams - how to properly handle used tires, batteries, and oils, why their proper management is essential for environmental protection, and how this process is connected to the circular economy. Students also learn how waste can be transformed into a resource and how each individual’s responsible behavior impacts the environment and the future.

The visits are conducted in an interactive and practical format. The program begins with presentations, followed by various activities and educational games that help students better understand and retain the information they receive. Participants actively ask questions, discuss environmental issues, and share their own ideas and perspectives on how more eco-friendly decisions can be made in everyday life.

At the end of the workshop, participants receive symbolic gifts and prizes, which provide additional motivation and make caring for the environment a more engaging and memorable experience.

Through this initiative, Tegeta Green Planet is implementing educational projects throughout Georgia. The main goal of the project is to spread awareness among as many young people as possible about environmental protection, proper waste management, and the importance of sustainable development. For the company, it is important that the younger generation is not only informed but also actively involved in the processes that contribute to creating a cleaner and better environment.

Tegeta Green Planet believes that caring for the environment goes beyond waste management - it also includes education, raising awareness, and fostering a culture of responsibility that will help create a more sustainable and environmentally safe future.
