"Tegeta Green Planet” is a sponsor of an environmental protection contest - "Messages from Eco-Schoolers"

"Messages from Eco-Schoolers," the contest that aims to raise awareness about the importance of protecting the environment and encourage environmental activism, gives students the opportunity to participate in important environmental activities.

"Tegeta Green Planet” is a supporter of a new environmental contest created by the entity “Let's Keep Georgia Clean”.

In keeping with important environmental challenges, the "Messages from EcoSchoolers" contest brings together four main working themes. These are: reducing pollution, protecting biodiversity, and reducing and recycling waste. The fourth working theme is a special “Tegeta Green Planet” nomination that focuses on the importance of recycling specific wastes, namely used tires, motor oil, and batteries.

Natika Berdzuli, Head of Strategic Communications of “Tegeta Holding”: "Tegeta Holding is an organization with high social responsibility, for which environmental protection is one of the priorities. With this goal in mind, another subsidiary, “Tegeta Green Planet”, joined the holding last year. We believe that involving the private sector in solving environmental problems is very important; and we are glad that, thanks to the support of the eco-contest in question, we were given the opportunity to do a good deed for society. The main purpose of support from the contest is to inform the public about the problems related to specific waste and to contribute to the prevention of this hazard."

The eco-contest was launched on April 7, World Health Day, which is another important message reminding the public that environmental issues are closely linked to the health of everyone. As part of the contest, schoolchildren participate in the creation of such signs that will point our fellow citizens to necessary actions to protect the environment.

Elene Loladze, executive director of “Let's Keep Georgia Clean”: "One of the main directions of our organization's activities is to expand the knowledge of the new generation on environmental protection issues and to activate the youth in this regard. Exactly with this purpose, we have been implementing the Global Ecological School Program in Georgia for the third year. International experience has clearly shown us that in order to achieve the goal, along with passing on environmental knowledge, it is important to create interesting projects and activities that encourage young people to think about environmental issues, seek more information, and propose ways to solve problems. We are glad that more and more private companies are getting involved in environmental issues, as by joining forces we can show the need for environmental actions to a wider audience."

Students from all schools in Georgia can individually participate in the "Messages from Eco-Schoolers" contest. To do this, by May 15 they should send such messages on working topics that can easily be turned into road signs. Authors of the best messages will be awarded special prizes.

The project is implemented with the financial support of the Swedish Government, with the involvement of local and international partners, in close cooperation with the Ministries of Environment and Agriculture, Education and Science, and the Environmental Information and Education Centre.
