Tegeta Green Planet took part in the educational green camp “Circular Future,” organized by CENN with the support of the European Union. The camp brings together 23 young participants from the Adjara and Kakheti regions and aims to raise environmental awareness, promote the principles of the circular economy, and encourage sustainable habits among young people.

During the seven-day program, participants learn about modern approaches to waste reduction, reuse, and recycling. Through interactive activities, they explore the core principles of the circular economy and gain practical knowledge on how to use resources more efficiently and reduce their environmental impact in everyday life.

On July 22, camp participants attended a thematic session titled “Circular Economy: Waste Reduction and Recycling for Public Health,” held with the participation of Tegeta Green Planet, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Waste Management Business Association.

Throughout the session, participants learned about the importance of the circular economy, modern waste management systems, and practical mechanisms that contribute to both environmental protection and improved public health.

During the concluding session of the day, Shalva Akhvlediani, Director of Tegeta Green Planet, spoke about the importance of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) system in Georgia and best practices for the effective management of automotive waste. Participants gained insight into how end-of-life tires, waste oils, and used batteries are collected, transported, and recycled, as well as the important role businesses play in advancing the circular economy.

Shalva Akhvlediani also introduced participants to the activities of Tegeta Green Planet. The organization, which brings together more than 350 partner producers and importers, actively works within the framework of the Extended Producer Responsibility system to develop an effective automotive waste management system, promote recycling, and raise environmental awareness. One of the organization's key priorities is educating young people and sharing practical knowledge that helps them make more responsible decisions in their daily lives.

The meeting was held in an interactive format, giving participants the opportunity to ask questions, discuss current environmental challenges with experts, and share their own ideas on how every citizen can contribute to reducing waste and using resources more responsibly.
