Why should you take your automobile waste to a special collection point, why shouldn't you open the fridge door unnecessarily, why should you water your flowers with rainwater, and what do these actions have to do with the environment? A logical explanation for this seemingly strange connection is contained in a book published within the framework of collaboration between
Tegeta Motors,
„Tegeta Green Planet“ and Green Pole. The collection includes 20 tips for protecting the environment and is designed to raise awareness among the younger generation.
Tatia Khorbaladze, Head of Strategic Communications at Tegeta Holding: "Caring for the environment has become a daily routine for Tegeta. We consistently follow our priorities and try to convey information about the harm caused to the environment by, for example, automotive waste to as wide an audience as possible. Given the specific nature of the company's activities, this issue is particularly relevant for us.
The book, published in collaboration with Green Pole, is another good opportunity not only to tell the younger generation about the dangers, but also to talk about ways to prevent them, which ultimately aims to change behavior in society.
The book, published as part of a collaboration between Tegeta Motors, Tegeta Green Planet, and Green Pole, covers three main topics: automobile waste recycling, air pollution, and water consumption. The target audience for the project is schoolchildren. The text of the collection is also written in simple and engaging language. Ten schools were selected for the presentation of the book.
The eco-advice book features two characters: Flora and Fauna. They tell readers in detail about how important the behavior of every citizen is for the safety and health of the environment. The first part of the publication is devoted to the recycling of automotive waste. Tegeta Green Planet, part of the Tegeta holding company, has been working in this area for several years in collaboration with Tegeta Motors. The company is one of the co-authors of the project, and the tips were prepared with their support.
Shalva Akhvlediani, Director of Tegeta Green Planet: "The main value of our company is the development of social responsibility and raising awareness in this area, which ultimately contributes to reducing the harmful impact on the environment. It is this main principle that unites us with Green Pole. We would like to work together to convey to our fellow citizens, especially young people, that abandoned automobile waste causes enormous damage to the environment. Therefore, it is necessary to collect and recycle them in accordance with the rules, which is what Tegeta Green Planet does with the help of its partners—licensed waste recycling companies.
Mariam Japaridze, CSR Manager at Tegeta Holding: "By presenting the book of eco-tips in schools, we share a number of important tips with students. In particular, we explain and teach them how they can take small steps to care for the environment. We share our values and approaches and encourage them to take a more active part in building a better future."
This is already the fifth edition of eco-tips for Green Pole. The organization's goal is to help the new generation develop environmental responsibility.
Georgy Dzhaparidze, founder of Green Pole: "We are delighted to continue the eco-advisory cycle this time in collaboration with Tegeta Motors and Tegeta Green Planet. This is an eco-primer that gives teenagers the opportunity to understand the harm that carelessness does to the environment, and at the same time, we want to share with young people some basic tips that will be useful to them in their everyday lives.
Our organization has been working in this area for many years. Recent observations show that awareness has improved. After each presentation, we conduct a test of sorts in schools, the results of which clearly confirm the change in the situation.
Most of the students selected for the presentation of the Eco-Tips book received information directly from the co-authors of the publication. The project is still ongoing and will be completed in the first half of October. As part of the project, about 500 students will learn more about environmental safety. In addition to face-to-face meetings, 15 posters will be prepared to make the tips more accessible. The cards will be posted on social media and various platforms.
